Did you know?
- SeaWorld San Diego has had more than 130 million visitors since its inception in 1964.
- The original idea of the four people who founded SeaWorld San Diego was to build an underwater restaurant. Logistical difficulty kept forcing changes on their plans and eventually it was decided to go with the completely different concept of a marine zoological park instead.
- In 1980, Sea World San Diego became the first zoological park anywhere in the world to successfully breed emperor penguins outside of their native Antarctica.
